Right after I was done at Good Shepherd of the Hills, I high-tailed it next door to the Horny Toad to get the bracelet that I had been coveting since the day before.
This time the shop-keeper was Victoria, a transplant from Brooklyn. (I had yet to meet someone who was originally from the area.)
Unlike many of the transplants I talked to Victoria had become disillusioned with living out west. However, she did not yet have plans to go back.
We chatted for a few minutes longer while I paid for my purchase.
Shortly afterwards, I left with my new treasure on my wrist, unable to take my eyes off the beautiful green stone.
