Bringing the Ocean to Lubbock

In order to clean up the patio a bit, I found myself doing some outside decorating on the patio.

The sea pony is no longer alone.

He has a cast iron mermaid, as well as other denizens of the deep, joining him.

Perhaps it's a bit weird to have nautical decorations in a land-locked area. But in prehistoric times Lubbock was under water (as was most of this planet). There is lots of evidence of that, especially in the rocks that I picked up off the ground that had fossilized seashells in them.

As I was sitting by the computer, I happened to notice how nicely the light played off the sea pony from this angle.
